Etude House Product Review!

Hello all! Today I'm going to review a few products from the Etude House line. I made a video about it but I'm also making a post because I have pictures that'll show the products better on my skin.

First up is the Etoinette Heart Blusher in Coral. I've picked this colors because I figured the pink one would be too pink on me. Not gonna lie, the pigment isn't something that shows up well on my skin unless the sun hits it right that's why I would recommend it as a highlight.

As you can see,it's not something you can see clearly (and I was also wearing a highlight underneath so I guess this isn't fair lol)

I do have to warn you that if you pack it on too much it'll make your face look super shiny.

Next up is the Etoinette Crystal Shine Lip in PBE001. I was expecting this to be more brown than it was but it's still not bad. It's a nice subtle nudish pink that looks quite lovely if I do say so myself. It's very smooth and doesn't have a sticky feel to it at all, very velvety. I think after a few hours the color does fade to a less vibrant pink

In the last picture I'm wearing the color on my bottom lip and nothing on my top lip so you can see the difference.

The other product I bought was the Nymph Aura Volumer Baby Glow Mist, I don't think I can do a true review on it because I've only used it once (which was today). I can say that it's very perfume-y so if you are sensitive to smells then don't buy it. When you first smell it it has a nice faint floral smell but if you spray it more than once it will smell very strong.

Sorry I don't have any pictures of the spray :(

Hope you guys enjoyed the review and found it helpful! Have a happy and safe New Year and happy holidays! :D

Gyaru Eyelash Advice

Hello ello!

I've made another video to better help people with eyelashes on their Gal journey. In the video I talk about where to get eyelashes and which style of eyelashes you should use for different sub-styles of gyaru. I stupidly left out information about bottom lashes *DERP* but I can write a post about them if you'd like the assistance :D

If you have anything you'd like to ask me, feel free to do so in the comments below or message me on my facebook account or even on the video itself. Good luck!

NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil Review

Hello darlings,

Today I have for you a review of one of the new products I bought. This season has brought on an urge that I don't usually get and that is the urge to wear lipstick. So I've spent the last two months looking at Youtube videos and picking up random lipsticks from my local drugstore in order to find my perfect shades (but we'll save those other colors for another post). Along with wanting to find good lipsticks that compliment my skintone, I've ALWAYS wanted to find a nude lip color. All the ones that I found at my local drugstores have either been too pink, too orange, or too brown and after noticing that I went to Sephora and asked one of the consultants to help me find a color. I tried out the NARS Velvet Gloss Lip Pencil and OMG...it's soooooooooooooooooo awesooooooooooooome!

The color I got is called More 9109. The color matches my natural lip color nicely without being overpowering, adds just a little more saturation to them if I do say so myself.

^In this picture I've only applied the lip color to my bottom lip so you can see the comparison of my natural lip to the color. When you compare it to a brand like Wet'N'Wild or NYC you can really feel the difference. It's so freakin' smooth and moist but it does have a very slight sticky feel after a few minutes like most glosses.

(The color in my bedroom lighting)

Color: 5/5

Texture: 5/5 [By texure I mean how well it applies and how it feels on my lips]

Price: 4/5

Would I buy it again?: Yes

I'm not fond of the price of this product which was around $25, but it's worth it in the long run. The pencil looks like it'll last me for a good 0.5-1 year since you don't have to re-apply coats of it a lot throughout the day and I more than likely will not be wearing it every single day.

I hope you found this review useful!

Ahem...Japan What You Dooooo

Heeeeey, lol. Sorry for the lack of posts, school has been taking the forefront. Anyway, how've you been? I've been dandy thanks!

So, this week has just been full of disappointments. Nelson Mandela died yesterday and my favorite gyaru magazine Soul Sister has ended :( Now I have to buy all the older issues and look for inspiration on the internet (like I've been doing). It seems gal fashion is as popular in Japan and the attention is headed back towards the youthful teenager look. Not that it makes much difference to gyaru anywhere, if anything it probably sends it back to its root of being a fashion that doesn't follow the mainstream and rebels against society's view of beauty.

AN-T-WAY, I've got some things to review for you all! (As soon as they get delivered) but until then I can review a few things that I've collected over this long hiatus which is mostly makeup and a circle lenses review (Tri-color violets) and some boots. Welp, I'm gonna go study some more and contemplate a better way for my blog to get more followers!

See you babes later~

Black Gyaru? Amerigyaru? What's with these terms?

I was reading (or rather scanning) this article that talks about what Gyaru is. To be honest, the only reason I read or even knew about it was because people on my facebook were talking about how some of their information doesn't make sense. For example:

" Gyarus have various subcategories too, depends to choice of fashions and gender. (Source Wikipedia)...Western gyaru, Amerigyaru, etc Girls and also guys who have found gyaru fashion outside of Japan (Spain, Finland, Canada, America). They have their own communities, and forums to help beginner gyaru and to meet up with each other during travel. They also use the forums to connect with each other in their own states as well..."

First off, Western gyaru is just a tag we use on Tumblr or blog posts to help people find out about us and Amerigyaru was a group on Facebook that flopped and no longer exists. I'm pretty sure the OP was confusing these two things with the style Amekaji which is, in fact, a gyaru style. But this post isn't about that, it's about this:

"Gyaru trends: ...Kokujin Gyaru, A black person who does gyaru fashion. Used to help Black females to find each other online. example Saiharii..."

...What?

Kokujin gyaru (not to be confused with kurogyaru) isn't a trend, it's a tag that we use to help others find out about us. That's like saying hakujin (white person) gyaru is a trend, which it isn't and just sounds stupid as hell. Everyone who isn't a native Japanese person living in Japan is considered as gaijin so all of us that live in other countries and practice gyaru are called gaijin gyaru or even western gyaru, we don't break it down into skin color and race. When it is, it's mainly just to make it easier for others that are like us to find us and either help us by giving us advice or being an example for others to follow or at least know that they aren't the only ones of their race that wish to follow (or do follow) that fashion.

To sum up what I wrote:
*Amerigyaru/western gyaru IS NOT a subcategory of gyaru fashion.

*Amekaji IS a subcategory of gyaru fashion.

*Kokujin gyaru IS NOT a trend. IT IS A TAG FOR THE INTERNET.

*Kurogyaru(96gal) IS a subcategory of gyaru but DOES NOT literally mean anyone with an ounce of African-American blood in them automatically gets branded as kurogal.

*Gaijin gyaru/western gyaru IS A TAG, NOT A SUBCATEGORY OF GYARU.

I just felt like this needed to be elaborated on for everyone who doesn't understand how these terms and tags are used. If you have any questions or would like some clarification please don't be shy to ask, I may sound mean and bitchy but if you're really interested in learning the RIGHT information then I'm more than happy to inform you or lead you to someone who really knows what they're talking about :D

Small Meet and Buys

I had a very small meet-up yesterday with two girls in my area. There name's are Kiwii and Alicia and I was kinda excited to find out that there were other girls interested in gyaru in my area :) We didn't take pictures since we didn't do much and I was late. We just walked around the mall and browsed through the store's clearance racks cuz we're all poor hahaha xD

Overall I spent about $30 and bought a new maxi skirt and tank top from Charlotte Russe and some midi rings. Then I went into this store called Love Culture that I'd never been to before and it was pretty cool in there. They had these SEXY shoes that looked like Lita boots but the boot was covered in a bright metallic silver and the heel was clear! I would've bought them if they were in my size...and weren't $50 T^T

In Love Culture I bought a pair of sunglasses, a cross and skull necklace, some skull with antlers studs, a spiked diamond and pearl headband, and a bracelet that looks like an oraora bracelet. Hopefully next time we have a meetup we take pictures and have more people but then we'd probably have to change the event title to "harajuku fashion meet-u" instead of "gyaru meet-up" that seems to make people not want to show up lol. But here are photos of what I bought and what I looked like, enjoy!

And yes, I'm wearing sunglasses with my regular glasses xD I'm weird like that

Hope you all have a great day, thanks for reading!

New K-Pop Group Wa$$up

Okay so, I'm not sure if you all know about this new Korean Pop girl group called Wassup/Wa$$up (I can't remember if they use dollar signs or not, I feel like they should have them for some reason) but they're causing quite the stir here in the western world and not so much in a good way. Before they debuted they leaked clips of them practicing their dancing and MV unto the internet. It was said their angle to stand out in the K-pop world is "twerking" [ Click here to if you don't know what twerking is. VIEWER'S DISCRETION IS ADVISED!]. Just from the three clips let out by them most of the people in the western world was in an uproar, they were mostly all legit displeased and disgusted. People were saying things like "I didn't start listening to Korean music just to see more American style dance!" or "twerking is the nastiest thing in the world! STOP CORRUPTING MY PURE KOREAN IDOL GODS WITH THIS FOUL AMERICAN TRASH!"

I personally don't understand fully why they're so upset. Most of these people complaining are the same ones that listen to Big Bang, HyunA, and all those other K-pop artists that are influenced by American pop culture and other genres such as R&B and Hip-hop. These girls in Wassup dance the same as any other girl group, they just aren't afraid to show that they have an interest in Reggae Dance hall and Hip-hop dancing and music. Sure, they spend a little more time shimmying their knees and not so much the slow hip circles that most girls do in their music videos (Belly dance terms, gotta love them). To be honest, I don't even acknowledge their dance moves as twerking as much as I do regular dance you'd see in a hip-hop video. Twerking is more controlled whereas they were not controlled, they were throwing out their backs pretty much and shimmying. That, and they don't have enough butt for me to be like, "OMG they really are twerking!" it's more like "Aww look at their little butts, bless their hearts."

Now, onto their music. They sound like a typical girl group...nothing really special. Really girly and cute sounding which didn't pair well with the style of dance they were trying to do. I am really expecting them to come up with more edgy songs with more bass or at least a dance hall feel to it since I feel like that's what they're trying to go for. Plus, these girls can actually dance! I've seen they do a choreo to one of Elephant Man's songs (I don't know the name of it) and I was very impressed because I didn't expect them to be as flowy and hard hitting as they were, I was honestly expecting stiffness and lots of posing but noooooooooooo they were the total opposite.

Also a note to the people who don't like what they're doing: They are going to do whatever they want to do. They aren't hurting you and they certainly are not corrupting the precious K-pop purity you've made yourself believe they had because you didn't understand what they were saying and they looked cute. Don't like it? Tough tittyballs, go watch some Korean dramas or something.

^^They need to do more of this type of music, it suits them better IMO. And I doubt she's trying to be like CL so we'll just shut that down right now lol

So what do you guys think?

Tips on buying Rokku clothes and Where to find them

I was asked to make a post on where to buy clothes that fall under the rokku category. Simply put, any store like Hot Topic of Spencers that usually are a place for people who fancy metal/rock/goth styles will be one place to start. However, these stores can be very expensive. First, it would be best for you to know what you like about the rokku style. Do you like the leather? The spikes? The fact that most of the clothes are dark? Once you figure that out it becomes a bit easier to find clothes and things.

The number one place I like to go to first is,and forever will be, eBay. If you make a general search for something like "skull T-shirt" or "spiked jacket" you'll see a whole bunch of different options for you to choose from and you can get ideas on other items you'd like to look for.

The next place I'd say to check out are stores like TJMaxx or Ross. I found that this season there was a lot of darker style clothing (mostly tops) that featured skull print, studded collars or shoulder things, those long sleeve flowy blouses that had the shoulder cut out, vertical black and white striped things, and other such creations. You can try Burlington too but, I personally didn't find many rokku things there that fit me but they do have some nice shoes.

Another place is your local urban clothing store (like Rainbows, Olive Ole, Citi Trends, etc.)! They tend to have the more daring/clubwear clothes like those fancy leggings that look like garters and crop tops that have inverted (or regular) crosses and patterns. I do have to say that going here will test your courage haha. They are a club wear store so you'll find things that you'd typically see at night in the club.

Basically you can buy rokku clothes anymore if you know what you're looking for. If you need help, write down the fashion trends that you like about the style like certain patterns or materials or accessories then go look for them at your local stores (or eBay/online stores).

P.S I forgot to add that the store called Buckle is also a great place to go. They have different washes on jeans, sparkly shirts, and cool belts. But they are expensive so beware! But a cool thing to do with their shirts is to cut them up (not literally). Like putting slits in the sleeves or turning it into an off-the-shoulder shirt or even cutting a design into the back which is usually plain

What's In My Purse/ Makeup Bag

Here's are two videos that I made two days ago. It's just a basic what's in my blah blah blah. Hope you enjoy! Also, I've decided that I'm tired of seeing the name Miivii. It seems very...childish and dumb to me and I'm ready to "graduate" from that name. I couldn't think of a cool name like most gyaru have so I decided to stick with something close to my real name so I came up with the name Tairennyan (Tai for short). I added -nyan to the end just for fun. I didn't want to put -tan cuz that's too many T's and -pyon or -pon didn't sound right either. Guess you could say I kind of copied Areinyan hahaha I'm am A.OK with that (partially because I LOVE her anyway). Anywayyyyy on to the videos!

07/15/2013

Hello all,

I have some news that I'm both excited and kind of sad about. I'm going on a gal hiatus for a while so I can amp up my style and get over this sickness I've caught. I've seen the photos from the recent NY gal meet hosted by Saiharii and Malia and I'm so sad I didn't make it :( They looked like they had so much fun and I feel like I missed out (cuz I really did)lol. So After seeing those photos and looking at Mipochi's ameblo blog I've decided that I really want to get better with my style. I don't want to just be good at the makeup, I want to have the pretty hair and dress differently. I think I've fallen for Ora Ora style along with Rokku and just leave the Onee style for those days that I have to dress more maturely. I'm getting back to my tough roots and putting more black in my wardrobe! Since summer is pretty much over I'm preparing my ebay wishlist with items I think would work well with my chosen style in the cooler seasons and that includes tights, knee high socks, boots, and faux fur! I'll be updating my wishlist while I'm taking my break :3

I was also thinking of changing my name. I feel like I've been Miivii for too long (and I'm tired of explaining that Miivii is a nickname for an character I named Miyabi in an RP -_- ) and I need a new name that embodies what I'm striving for which is to be a full gyaru! I'll let you all know what I change it to when I pick the right one (and no this isn't gonna be one of those "she changes her name every month" type things, just this one time lol)...I kind of feel like every gyaru goes through this phase where they feel like they're stuck and need a way to revamp themselves and that's where I am now. So you all stay wild and sexy!~

Excitement!

This past weekend I went to D.C to visit my sister and get some fun in after having such a shitty week. We ended up having a mini gyaru meet with Tama and her fiancee and roommate and it was da bomb! We met at union station and browsed around there (it's like an airport shopping area 2.0) then went in Victoria's Secret and bought these delicious smelling bronzers, body sprays, and lotion (sorry that I lack photos lol). After that we went to my first hookah bar and we tried to do karaoke but due to out having a 20 year old with us we couldn't get in since it was 21 and older. We also missed out on going to a club and partying but, there's always next time. So here's some photos of us at hookah and ending our night.

Tama was putting us to shame with her princess hair and heels lol. Her outfit was so simple yet fabulous wish I took a picture of her

I was too effin tall to fit in the picture lol

Next weekend is my meet with my gal sisters in Hikaru We're gonna party it up, yo!

Shoppin' Haul

I did some shopping yesterday because I needed some more clothes (mainly bottoms) and I wanted to share what I got! Also, I got another belt in the mail~ This time in black

I need to make a new chain for this one like I did the white one so it looks more D.I.A-esque and possibly put some more holes in the belt so that it sits lower on my hips (I dunno why I didn't think of that before).

So yesterday I went to Ross and picked up a few shirts and a black skirt. Also picked up a pink zebra print rug that I'm going to use in my makeup area so that I don't mess up my carpet because I don't put my makeup on in the bathroom and I don't have a vanity *REALLY WISH I HAD ONE* I also bought a kaftan to wear when me and my dance troupe have performances and need to dress all folk-like.

Then I went to Shoe Carnival and picked up these two pairs of shoes for $47 total! I needed to buy more neutral colored shoes since I plan on getting more maxi dresses to wear during the summer or when I just feel like being girly in a not-so-bright way.

[Now you can see part of my new rug!]

Then I discovered a store named Torrid. It's like a Rue21 for bigger girls!! I love it! As you may or may not know I am bottom heavy. So finding pants/shorts/skirts that fit and are fashionable is very hard for me to do especially in stores like F21, Wet Seal, Ross, or Marshalls. But anyway, I went into the store and was soooooo happy!!!!!!! I tried on a pair of their shorts as I was so happy I could've cried T~T They hugged me in all the right places and were loose in the thighs and weren't that awkward length that makes me legs looks even more fatter (FYI I recommend that if you have or owm bermuda shorts BURN THEM). My saddness was short lived after I discovered the price of on the tag though ._. The shorts were $36 and the pants were $64...but luckily I went in when they were having their buy one get one 1/2 off. So I ended up only getting four pair of shorts and two of them are colorful!! I've never had colorful shorts before :D

I also got these accessories over the course of this and last month. I noticed that I don't have a lot of gold accessories so I went out and got some [I still love my silver though <3]

That's it for now~

Dressing Gal In Public?

I was asked to make a post explaining what it's like dressing gal in public and how people react. Well this will be a short post only because I tend to not pay attention to the people around me lol, I mainly dress rokku and ocassionally kuronba and oneegyaru so I would say my style (clothing wise) isn't all all that standout-ish. But as for makeup and hair I do stand out among the people in my area.

I mostly get stared at by dudes, no surprise there because dude stare at everything lol. People won't be so shocked by your makeup (unless you do manba, of course or some other extreme makeup style). Girls will usually stop and say "Oh, I love [so-and-so article of clothing]" or "OMG I love your hair!" They don't usually ask where I get anything from, they just give a compliment and go on with their life lol. So, overall I'd just say people react kindly to how I dress and put my makeup on.

Now, how you react to what you are wearing can have an effect on how other's react as well. If you're going out of your boundaries and wearing say...garters with thigh high stockings/socks for the first time out and you're feeling a bit uncomfortable it'll how on your face. Dudes usually pick up this (especially when they're in groups) and will more than likely try to pick at you and either make your self-esteem go out the window or try to talk to you like you're a total slut (and then when you ignore them they say something like you aren't that cute anyway or some bullshit like that). That's why it's important to at least act like you're confident. With time that confidence will turn permanent and you won't be worrying about what other people thing about what you choose to put on your body. It's all about how you feel in the clothes you're in (as long as you don't look like a hot mess and you match. If you're not sure if it looks good ask a [true] friend or two!)

If any of you guys have anymore questions pleas feel free to ask! I'd love to answer more questions! :D

Onee-gyaru day! and A Mini Review

Ello ello~

Today I made myself get dressed up lol I've been avoiding putting makeup on for some reason these past two weeks (just lazy I guess) I went for Oneegyaru and wore my new favorite orange leopard print dress and a big giant floppy beach hat :D I've always wanted a giant beach hat and I'm so glad I got it. I got the hat from Burlington for $6 and the the dress from a local store called Simple Fashion for $22.

I also got a belt in the mail that looks like a D.I.A belt! I just bought one in black now that I know it fits me. It's kinda snug but, it'll do lol. I think I may add some different chains with charms to make it look more edgy :3 I got them from a woman named Leisha who owns the storeAngel2Diva and she is super sweet and kind. I had emailed her about these belts and she answered in a very timely and polite manner. I had to place my order over the phone but that's all good ^^. The belts cost $34 plus $6 shipping for priority mailling. If you're interested in buying a belt you'll have to email her to see what she has in stock.

P.S I'm not as fat as these picture make me out to be, the dress was just weird with the belt on lol

That wasn't the review, however. I wanted to review this new eyelash glue I got by Andrea Modlash. It's a brush on clear eyelashe glue that I picked up from Walgreens. Today was the firt time I used this glue and I gotta say...I like it. When I brushed it on the eyelash band the glue was pretty much instantly ready to be put on and stick. I've had the lashes on for about an hour and so far they haven't lifted on the edges or anywhere else. The price was about the same price as any other eyelash glue (I think it was $4, I can't quite remember. Edit: I just got back home from a dancer performance in a hot ass silk kaftan under bright ass stage lights and my lashes haven't melted off yet, so the hold is great!

Okay, that was it for today! Have an awesome one guys!
