Review: Maybelline Dream Fresh BB

Ello Ello~

Today I will review the BB cream by Maybelline. First, let me say that I had very little expectation for this product because I'm not sure what BB creams are supposed to do except perhaps to lighten your skin (I think).

On the front of the bottle it says BB cream is an "8-in-1 beauty balm skin protector [with] Titanium Dioxide sunscreen" (SPF 30) and on the back it says "enhances skin with eight benefits in 1: blurs imperfections, enhances, brightens, adjusts to skin-tone, smoothed, hydrates, SPF 30 protects, and 0% oils and other heavy ingredients." I'm assuming that this brand of BB cream is for protection of skin rather than enhancing it.

I bought the deep sheer tint (cost about $8) and it blends very well with my skin tone and matches it epically. However, I don't see it doing much of anything else it listed :/. My skin type is moreso on the dry side but only in certain places like around my nose and between my eyebrows and this cream doesn't make those areas feel smooth or all that hydrated. I have to put on my normal moisturizer then layer this on top.

As for the blurring imperfections, it covers the very faintest of imperfections. I have dark spots on my cheeks and chin and it kind of makes them not as obvious but not by much. It does make the pouches under my eyes brighter so they don't look obvious.

Overall, I recommend just using it as tinted sunscreen under your makeup or by itself if you just want protection.

  1. Aww isn't it a shame to get a product that doesn't fully cover dark spots? I really hate that...I have them BAD! Good review though, thanks for sharing!
